Get to Know Me

Ben Berman has lived in Seattle since 1999. Ben received his BA in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. As part of his undergraduate studies Ben spent a year in Ecuador with a University of Washington Consortium program focusing on global health and international development. Upon graduation, Ben worked in the nonprofit sector with predominantly Spanish speaking populations; assisting small businesses in Washington and Oregon to grow their organizations while underwriting loans for a non-profit bank. In this role, Ben realized his passion for entrepreneurial development and enrolled in Seattle University in pursuit of a Master in Business Administration (MBA).
 
Upon graduating with his MBA, Ben worked for six years as a program manager with McKinstry in Seattle, where he managed teams of engineers to ensure that facilities were able to maximize technology to decrease their energy consumption.
 
In 2011, Ben combined his background in business with his passion for sustainable spaces and created BermanBuilt, a design-build residential construction company. BermanBuilt successfully integrated contemporary building practices with craftsman details; resulting in a portfolio of unique, energy-efficient, and innovative projects.
 
When asked what made his transition from building into real estate, Ben said “Often times there is a disconnect between what clients want, and what they actually purchase. Too many clients are drawn in by fancy landscaping and flashy paint jobs—I love construction and all the layers that make up a house. As a broker, my role is to utilize my extensive background in construction to find potential properties that are truly the best fit for my clients.
 
Ben is a passionate advocate for anyone buying or selling their home. His diverse work history has given him valuable experience in the art of negotiation, sales, marketing and managing complex transactions. Ben is committed to ensuring that the home you purchase or sell truly realizes its potential.
